My Aunt Hazel Sidebottom said that when she was young and lived out on Flint Ridge, Aunt Sarah and Uncle Jim lived on the road they took to Mammoth Cave School. She said there was some connection to the Hunt family, maybe a slave that came with the Hunt's ca 1840 or so but no proof of that. Anyway, they would stop by Aunt Sarah's house and she would give them brown sugar and oats as a snack to eat on the way to or from school. Aunt Sarah's maiden name was Woodson. "Uncle Jim" was a brother or half-brother to Stephen Bishop's wife, Charlotte Brown. "Uncle Jim" worked at the estate (cave). Norman found a death certificate that states she and Uncle Jim are buried in a Cemetery not far from the Hotel on land that William (I think) Garvin owned. -- Karen Logsdon Phillips
